Reactive Orange 13 - Introduction

Reactive Orange 13 is an organic compound with the chemical name C. I. 15580, also known as Methyl Acetate International 13. It is a deep orange to red dye whose molecular structure contains a methyl ketone group and a benzene ring structure.

Reactive Orange 13 is mainly used as textile dyes and pigments. It can combine with hydroxyl groups in textiles to form covalent bonds, so it has good fastness in the dyeing process. In addition, Reactive Orange 13 is also commonly used in painting, ink, crayons and plastic products.

There are two main methods for preparing Reactive Orange 13. One is obtained by the reaction of p-nitrophenol with methyl acetone, and the other is obtained by the reaction of p-methyl ketone benzene and p-toluenesulfonyl chloride.
